Warehouse construction :Beginning

The next day, construction of the warehouse begins. Rope the area near krull's hut as the proposed construction site and decide where to erect the pillars.

Once we're in position, it's my job to dig the hole. The soil around here is hard. Using a plough-like farm tool, dig holes and scrape out the soil. In the meantime, have everyone else including krull bring in the lumber.

Since krull is in a good mood because he can carry lumber, Diana's mood gets better and better along with it. That's good.

Once the hole dug and the soil is hardened using thin timbers, timbers for the posts are erected. Thanks to KRULL's hard work here too, it was over rather easily. Sammy and I use a wood saw to cut the remaining lumber into planks.

Since this is a warehouse, the floor built at a height off from the ground to avoid receiving moisture from the ground. Diana and her colleagues who will make the boards are hanging the joists for the boards. Diana and riku are getting used to it and it is rather smooth.

Liddie said that even in the elf village, they used to do some repairs themselves (since the village is in the middle of nowhere, it is not possible to call a craftsman every time). Even if some parts are still a bit dodgy, it is not enough to worry about.

RIKU is like half a real job and Diana's quick adaptation is just a little strange. Is it because she is a tomboy, or is it because of the family culture that says military deeds are the honour of the house?

Once the joints hung, the beams passed on. In between blacksmithing jobs, I made nails (and arrowheads) every now and then but in order to consume as little as possible, I cut 《Hozono》 to fix the beams and pillars.

It's a site-specific project but it's within the scope of the production cheat, so it's helpful to be able to make a little bit of a mess. The day ended when the beams hanged over and the ridgepole raised.

Still, this should be unusually fast for two buildings. Thanks in part to the cheat, but krull's help has also been quite successful.

「You helped me a lot. Thank you.」

I said as I stroked krull's head,

「krull lulu.」

Krull squeal a single, happy cry.

The next day, today, the rafters of the roof are fixed. We are making a lot of progress today thanks to KRULL. After done passing the rafters processed with cheat to the two buildings, it is time to put up the floor using nails.

They all carry floorboards and nail them to the joists. Although simple, the floorboards must stretched in perfect alignment to prevent misalignment. If one part is out of alignment, the floorboards will not fit together.

We gave it a lot of space there and the cheat is effective in nailing it down but not so different from everyone else's, so putting it up neatly will inevitably take some time.

On this day, we finished the work when we had finished putting up the floors of the two buildings. If we do just the floor, there's a rather building feel to it.

Furthermore, the next day, they begin putting up the walls. Of course, the door must allow entry and exit. So, the doorframe should be made first. Since it is a warehouse, it needs a double swing folding door rather than a single swing door.

Everyone silently, mallet in hand, hammers and nails hammered to fasten the wall panels to the pillars. I fastened it from the bottom so that the top edge of the board was slightly covered. I thought this would help prevent rain from entering and regulate humidity.

The processing for this is of course, done by Cheat skill. Although cheat did the work accuracy required, the work today is proceeding without any confusion since the workers have become accustomed to the work after yesterday's floor boarding.

Nevertheless, it is a wallboard of a building of a reasonable size. As the area was larger than the floorboards, the day ended with the walls being built.

With no roof and no doors, at first glance it looks like a house whose roof blown off by a storm.

「I'll put the roof on tomorrow and we'll be done.」

「Yes. Then put the doors on and it's perfect. 」

「That's right.」

Riku, Sammy, and me exchanged such words with each other and began to clean up after today's work.
